From Struggle to Wisdom
Find Clarity and Strength on Your Life's Journey
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” — Marcel Proust
I am Katya, and I am a BACP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist. I help people who are great at doing but struggle to simply be find clarity and connection in their lives and relationships.
When you are operating at a high level while your nervous system is on high alert, your mind doesn't switch off. You carry a lot of responsibility, yet the same loops reappear: the argument resurfaces, intimacy feels fragile, and repair never quite lands. Many clients arrive when the cost of a demanding life with no real off switch is showing - anxiety, insomnia, decision fatigue, Sunday dread. Others come as couples: trust shaken by betrayal, conflict that escalates fast and resolves slowly, intimacy that becomes either transactional or tense.
In either case, people reach out at a crossroads - that internal moment when the old ways of being no longer work but the new way isn't yet clear. It's like standing in the fog, knowing you can't turn back but not yet seeing where forward leads. This crossroads, while deeply unsettling, is also a place of profound potential. I believe the very experiences that bring you here hold the key to your transformation. My role is not just to help you cope, but to help you discover the power within yourself to navigate this uncertainty and build a life defined not by struggle, but by clarity, connection, and resilience.
At this turning point, therapy gives you the space to pause, make sense of what's shifting, and turn insight into practical change. You will learn to move forward with self-compassion and trust in yourself. The result is a clearer head and a calmer nervous system, improved vitality, and a better connection with yourself and the people who matter most.
If you are standing at that crossroads, I invite you to take the first step. Please send me a short message to share what's happening for you. You don't need to have it all figured out - just a willingness to begin. Together, we can build a conduit between insight and lasting change.

My own therapy was life-changing - not because I simply felt better, but because I emerged different. Experiences of loss and identity shifts taught me that the moments that break us can also help us grow.
This is why I became a psychotherapist: because I know that navigating the darker chapters of life with the gentle and professional support of another human being is not only healing but also profoundly transformative.
My path to this work was not linear. Before training as a therapist, I worked in finance, which gave me first-hand insight into the pressures of high-performance workplaces - and the quiet toll that constant striving can take. This allows me to deeply understand clients dealing with burnout, perfectionism, and high-stakes careers.
Having lived through relationship upheavals and major life transitions, I understand how connection, loss, and change can shape who we are and how we relate. My experience of motherhood has also deepened my understanding of identity and the emotional complexity of caring for others while continuing to grow myself.
Coming from a multicultural background and having lived in several countries, I also understand the complexities of belonging, adaptation, and identity that come with crossing cultures, no matter how exciting that may seem on the surface.
I trained at Regent's University London, am a registered member of the BACP, and have spent the past five years working with individuals and couples. But beyond credentials, I bring presence, curiosity, and a deep commitment to the work we'll do together.
I am guided by integrity and depth, choosing substance over surface in all aspects of my life, and continually seeking knowledge that fosters growth, connection, and healing. I regularly engage in Continuing Professional Development and supervision to ensure I offer the highest standard of care and reflection to my clients.
Qualifications:
My role is to be a fellow co-traveller supporting you on your transformational journey gently guiding you towards finding your own answers and solutions whatever questions or challenges may be in the safety of a non-judgemental therapeutic environment.
I believe that no client is like any other, just like everyone's life path is unique, and as such, my approach is based on my client's individual needs, where they are in life, and what their aspirations are.
Therapy is a deeply personal experience, and a lot depends on the quality of the Therapeutic Relationship. It is extremely important to find the right fit. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation to discuss the reasons why you are considering coming to therapy, and for us to establish if it would be beneficial to you for us to work together.
Usually, I meet with clients on a weekly basis as therapy works best when there is a regular, consistent day and time. Meeting weekly will enable you to make better progress towards your goals, but I am able to work more flexibly if that is your preference.

People often come to therapy to resolve a particular issue, to find support for something specific, or when they start feeling lost.
The progress of the therapeutic process is never linear, and the places it takes you, what gets unlocked and uncovered, can be quite unexpected - what can be revealed and addressed in this process might not be exactly what you expected or planned for, as some hidden material may emerge. This is just something to keep in mind.
Together, we will, of course, work to address any newly uncovered issues.
If you don’t see the issue you are struggling with listed above, or you just feel that something isn’t right and you’re not sure what it is, please get in contact to see if Psychotherapy in Central London and online can help.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I am able to draw upon a range of approaches to help you achieve your goals. No two clients are the same, your experiences are unique to you, so what you need from psychotherapy differs from any other client. Working integratively means that I will tailor the approaches and techniques I use in our sessions to your individual experiences, to address your needs and to help you achieve your specific goals.
When we work together, I may draw upon all or some of the following approaches: Integrative, Interpersonal, CBT, Humanistic, Phenomenological/Existential, Transpersonal, Relational, Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis.
Psychodynamic Therapy allows you to look at the underlying causes of your current feelings and behaviour. It helps you understand how your past experiences influence your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
What was ‘recorded’ in your unconscious in the early stages of your life informs your life in the present. Bringing it into the awareness helps you recognise your maladaptive patterns and make changes.
Existential Phenomenological Therapy is a philosophical approach to therapy which can help you understand your subjective human experience of being in the world.
It views a person as in a constant process of becoming, and encourages you to take responsibility for creating your own life through making choices in line with your values and beliefs.
It helps you explore anxieties, uncertainties, and impermanence as fundamental parts of human existence, and how these notions become part of your lived, everyday experience.
Cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT, focuses on your current problems and helps you find practical ways to manage them. It explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings and actions.
By breaking each problem down to its cognitive, behavioural and emotional components, it identifies where negative or unhelpful patterns lie, which in turn, helps you change these patterns. CBT is problem oriented and works to help you notice and change your negative automatic thought patterns so you can feel better.

I just wanted to reach out and say thank you as you really helped me by listening and offering me that space to talk. I was really not in a stable place at all and your gentle approach really made a difference and was what I needed to help me get through those changes.

Words cannot describe the change I have seen in myself in the last few weeks. I know I am a long way from where I need to be but I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during our time working together. I genuinely would not have been able to get through this period of my life without you and I will forever be grateful for that.
~ J.E.
Your first session will be about your own expectations of therapy and what you aim to achieve as a result. It is important to keep in mind that whether you get there or not, and how quickly you get there will largely depend on you. A lot of work will be focused around exploring your feelings and getting used to talking about them freely and openly as part of the process.
People often come to therapy to resolve a particular issue, or find support for something specific, or when they start feeling lost or stuck. The progress is never linear and what gets unlocked in the process, can, at times, be quite unexpected. Together, we will, of course, work to address any newly uncovered issues as well.
How long you need therapy depends on your unique needs and circumstances. You may only need a few sessions to work through a specific issue you are struggling with or you may need longer. It is natural to see change at different rates depending on where you start from too. The important thing is to keep an open mind over how long you will be in therapy and discuss it with me as changes happen.
In your session you'll be able to talk about what is currently happening in your life or really anything that has been bothering you and your feelings and emotions in connection to that. I will listen and support you without any judgment or criticism. I will ask you questions and prompt you to explore your emotions in more depth. This can help you gain a better understanding of your thought processes, and find your own solutions to problems.
If you are struggling to cope and are finding day-to-day life difficult, you may benefit from professional help. Just talking to someone confidentially who is not a friend or family member can make all the difference. Counselling and psychotherapy provide a regular time for you to explore your feelings and talk about any problems you're experiencing. A counsellor can help you develop better ways of coping, allowing you to move forward and get the most out of life.
I prefer to see clients every week. This way, we are able to help you make the best progress in achieving your goals. However, I am flexible, so if you would like to meet once a fortnight, we can discuss your requirements when you get in touch.
As an integrative psychotherapist, when I know more about you and the challenges you are facing, I will suggest a therapeutic pathway that will best help you achieve your goals. This may involve one approach, or a blend of approaches. The important thing is that I tailor my approaches to you and your specific needs.

“If you can cut free of impressions that cling to the mind, free of the future and the past—can make yourself, as Empedocles says, “a sphere rejoicing in its perfect stillness,” and concentrate on living what can be lived (which means the present)... then you can spend the time you have left in tranquility. And in kindness. And at peace with the spirit within you.” — Marcus Aurelius
